Charles TuranoCharles Turano recently moved to Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, where he will continue to be a Director for Heritage Werks, and has recently become an Executive Vice President of the hockey franchise, Florida Panthers.
As a Director at Heritage Werks, Mr. Turano works on the company’s mission to preserve, protect, make accessible and monetize the heritage of a growing list of teams including the Los Angeles Dodgers, Atlanta Braves, St. Louis Cardinals and Golden State Warriors.
Mr. Turano was the Co-Founder of Genesco Sports Enterprises in 1994 along with John Tatum. Genesco became one of the most powerful corporate representation firms in the country, handling negotiations for Pepsi, MasterCard, Motorola, Coors, RadioShack and with every pro sports team/league in America. After selling his half of Genesco in 2005, Mr. Turano quickly resumed his work in the entrepreneurial world, investing in several Jimmy John’s Sandwich Shops and teamed up with his good friend, Jay Lombardo at Lombardo Custom Apparel. Both ventures are thriving.
While in Dallas, Mr. Turano served on the Dallas Stars Ownership Advisory Group, President of the Italian Club of Dallas and as the North Texas Coordinator for the National Italian American Foundation.
Born in Houston, Texas, Mr. Turano attended St. Thomas High School, where he excelled in cross country and track. He later earned a degree in journalism at the University of North Texas. Mr. Turano has been married for 29 years to his high school sweetheart Debbie; they have one son Charlie III who is a sophomore at the University of Alabama.
Mr. Turano’s favorite past time is driving his vintage Alfa Romeo or smoking a cigar.
