About NIAF Grants

The National ltalian American Foundation’s mission is to promote and protect Italian American heritage. To support this overarching mission, NIAF’s goal is to play an active role in the sponsorship of ltalian and ltalian American related projects and events through the Foundation’s Grants and Sponsorship Program.

Financial support ranging $2,500-$10,000 is available to non-profit organizations and educational institutions that will be executing an event or completing an educational project that directly supports and advances NIAF’s mission as a national organization.

 

Eligibility

To apply for a NIAF grant or event sponsorship

Applicants must…

  • Have an active NIAF Membership at the Silver Membership level or above.  Italian American organizations applying for funding must be a part of NIAF’s Affiliate Organization Program.
  • Apply on behalf of a non-profit or educational organization. Requests from individuals or for-profit institutions will not be considered.
  • Submit funding requests for projects that have not previously been denied.

* Personal projects, education or personal development expenses, and travel expenses are not eligible for consideration. Students looking for financial support for their education should refer to NIAF’s Scholarship page.

How to Apply

The NIAF Grants and Sponsorship application is currently being updated.  Please check back in mid-February to complete your application in our new application portal. Proposals will be reviewed by the NIAF Grants and Sponsorship Committee every four months and must be received by the dates listed below at 11:59 pm (ET).

Funding decisions will be communicated to prospective grantees approximately three-to-four weeks after the proposal deadlines.
