Boston, MA 02210Find out “What it means to be a young Italian American in the 21st century” at the tenth annual NIAF Youth Retreat for Italian Americans held in Boston, August 1-3. The NIAF Retreat is a weekend for Italian Americans to discuss, reflect and enjoy what it means to be of Italian American heritage.
The retreat brings together adults, ages 18 to 30, who share a common interest in Italy and Italian American issues, for a weekend of cultural, educational and social activities.
The event begins on Friday, August 1st, with an evening welcome reception and dinner. On Saturday, participants will meet and discuss with Italian American novelist Christopher Castellani, whose new book, “A Kiss From Maddalena” has invigorated the literary world. The itinerary also includes a walking tour of Boston’s historically strong Italian American community, the North End followed by an Italian feast celebrating Saint Agrippina Di Mineo with Italian food, dancing and revelry.
The NIAF weekend is open to all Italian Americans and Italian enthusiasts. Come alone or bring a friend or relative who shares your enthusiasm for Italian culture. Dress is casual. The retreat package begins at $85 and can include two nights hotel, transportation to events, and meals.
