The fourth annual Sarazen Memorial Cup is held in in honor of late Italian-American golfer Gene Sarazen (born Eugenio Saraceni), whose many accomplishments include winning seven major championships and a total of 38 PGA Tour titles. Sarazen, known as “The Squire,” was the first to achieve a career grand slam of the four majors and is credited as having inventing the sand wedge. He was a member of six Ryder Cup teams and is in the PGA Hall of Fame and the World Golf Hall of Fame.
Join Charles (Chuck) V. Conte, the NIAF Massachusetts area coordinator, and Ronald W. Del Sesto, the Foundation’s Rhode Island area coordinator, at the Fourth Annual Sarazen Memorial Cup in New England. Proceeds benefit the NIAF Gene Sarazen Scholarship Fund
With a shotgun start at 10 a.m., the tournament will be followed by a 2:30 p.m. cocktail reception and an awards buffet dinner. Prizes will be awarded to the top three foursomes. We will also give prizes for the longest drive, and the shot closest to the pin. There will also be a hole-in-one prize of a Maserati sports car. Other hole-in-one prizes include trips to Florida and the Bahamas, in addition to golf equipment. Registration is $250 per person. Corporate sponsorships are also available. The format will be a Modified Scramble.
