(Washington, DC — May 5, 2010) Business executives Jay Lombardo, president and CEO of LombardoCustom Apparel, Bruno Mascolo, CEO and a co-founder of international hair care business TONI&GUY, and Victor “Vic” Salvino, dealer principal of Texas Kenworth Co., will be honored at the National Italian American Foundation’s (NIAF) Texas Gala on May 15, 2010.

This year’s gala honorees also include Mike Modano, Stanley Cup champion and seven-time NHL All-Star for the Dallas Stars. Modano will receive a NIAF Special Achievement Award in Sports. Bruno Mascolo’s brother Gaetano Mascolo, a co-founder of TONI&GUY, will receive a NIAF Special Achievement in Business and the Arts, posthumously.

The NIAF Texas Gala will be held at the historic Adolphus hotel and features a 6 p.m. cocktail reception followed by a silent auction, awards program and dinner. This year’s gala dinner chairman is Joe DePinto, president and CEO of 7-Eleven, Inc., and a member of NIAF’s Board of Directors. PresidentGeorge W. Bush and Mrs. Laura W. Bush will serve as honorary patrons of NIAF’s Texas Gala.

At NIAF’s first regional gala in Texas in more than 30 years, Lombardo will receive a NIAF Special Achievement Award in Fashion. Upon graduation from the University of North Texas, Lombardo founded one of the nation’s leading custom clothiers. Lombardo’s clothes have appeared on covers of Gentlemen’s Quarterly (GQ) and numerous fashion publications. He is a recipient of the Blue Chip Enterprise Small Business of the Year Award and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Small Business Award. For the past 20 years, Lombardo Custom Apparel has been outfitting politicians, CEOs, entertainers and Super Bowl Champions with custom wardrobes.

One of the best American-born NHL players in history, Modano is the team’s alternate captain. He is the all-time goal-scoring and points leader among American-born players in the NHL and led the Stars to win the Stanley Cup in 1999. At age 18, his career began with the Minnesota North Stars as its first overall selection in the1988 NHL Entry Draft. Modano’s 22-year career includes the 1991 and 2000 Stanley Cup Finals, and he has represented the United States at three Olympic Winter Games (1998, 2002, 2006).

In 1963, brothers Giuseppe and Gaetano Mascolo founded hair care company TONI&GUY in London. Younger brothers Bruno and Anthony later joined the U.K.-based hairdressing company. In 1985 Gaetano (Guy) and Bruno moved to Dallas to establish TONI&GUY as the most innovative chain of salons. Bruno Mascolo also established an artistic team to travel throughout the U.S. and Europe. In 2001, the artistic team was inducted in the British Hairdressing Hall of Fame. In 2005 Bruno Mascolo received the prestigious North America Hairstyling Awards (NAHA) Hall of Leaders Award. At NIAF’s Texas Gala, Mascolo will receive a NIAF Special Achievement Award in Business and the Arts.

Victor “Vic” Salvino,dealer principal of Texas Kenworth Co.

Joining this year’s honorees, Salvino will receive a NIAF Special Achievement Award for Humanitarian Service. Salvino began his career with Kenworth Truck Company in 1951. In 1979 he purchased Texas Kenworth Co. and served as dealer principal until he sold the company in 1998. Active in the community, Salvino is past chairman of Kenworth Dealer Council; Texas Truck Division of the Texas Automobile Dealers Association; Sand & Gravel Motor Carriers Association; and Texas Motor Transportation Association. He was honored as American Truck Dealer of the Year in 1981. Salvino served on the boards of the Dallas Foundation of Otology, The Hearing School of the Southwest and Dallas Can! Academy
