About the Program

The NIAF Capitol Hill Council (CHC) incorporates NIAF government relations, international relations and public policy programs while serving as a networking vehicle for executives among many government, community and business interests. Support includes membership privileges of the NIAF Council Network, an intimate relationship network of prominent corporate leaders from the U.S. and Italy.

As a corporate member of the CHC, your firm is acknowledged as a premier partner at all related NIAF programs and includes exclusive invitations to the most VIP events.

CHC membership would include other NIAF Capitol Hill events including Congressional receptions and dinners and intimate networking events with the IACD, staff and supporters.

NIAF regularly partners with the Embassy of Italy for events in DC and annually hosts business and international relations conferences combining real-world advice with academic analysis and insight. These programs feature businesses leaders, media, government officials and other high-level notables addressing important policy issues facing our nation and the world.

NIAF regularly offers forums on Capitol Hill in cooperation with the IACD. These events are attended by some of the most prominent members of the Washington community. Among recent NIAF events featured keynotes by Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke, Italian Foreign Affairs Minister Franco Frattini and CIA Director Leon Panetta.

Special Congressional Receptions in the U.S. Capitol welcoming new Italian Ambassador Giulio Terzi and Members of the Italian American Congressional Delegation (IACD), a bipartisan and bicameral group of nearly 200 Members of the 111th Congress.

The NIAF Frank J .Guarini Public Policy Forums and NIAF Public Policy Lecture Series. Among this year’s featured keynotes include Center for American Progress CEO and Obama-Biden Transition Project Chairman John Podesta, former chairman of the U.S. Joint Chief of Staffs General Peter Pace, SEC Director Carlo di Florio, Italian Labor & Social Policies Minister Maurizio Sacconi as well as many others.

A special two-part International Business and Relations Conference discussing the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and the challenges of doing business in the global economy. This event is being held in the Sala del Cenacolo (Library of the Senate) of the Camera dei Deputati in Rome. These conferences include special receptions with U.S. and Italian government leaders, business executives from both sides of the Atlantic, and other VIPs including a private gathering at the U.S. Embassy in Rome.
